Collaborators : Ruoxiao Sun, Jinny Kang

In the Week 12-second half & Week 13 we made implemented the final physical design and fabrication, electronic design and unity virtual space design.

Physical Design & Fabrication

(Fabrication was done Ruoxiao and Jinny. I participated in the problem-solving of the fabrication design issues alongwith them. Brainstorming together helped us comeup with many ideas individually and as a group.)

  1. Hamster house material was changed from MDF to arcylic . Inspired from

(Thanks to Ruoxiao for finding the source. 😊 )

  2. For crank after the suggestion from Tom, we decided to use shaft collar and washers to stabilize the crank shaft. My teammates reiterated the crank shaft design and fixing, to get the right amount of sturdiness and momentum on spinning.

  3. We were first going to wall mount the entire setup. But due to its unavailability, we decided to make the physical structure for it. We went through various iterations of the structure design to reach the final design of the hamster house.

  1. For LEDs we were going to use LEDs wrapped in paper and silicon tubes. We iterated on the different ways in which LEDs should be displayed. Finally, we found displaying them differently from behind the acrylic was the most aesthetically beautiful and we went ahead with that.
