Brainstorming Design Ideas

1. Smart trash can for trash collection and segregation.
2. Automatic water refill system at the restaurants.

We finally chose smart trash can as we felt it will give such more opportunity to learn new things and we found the idea quite interesting to explore.

Foundational Research

To study in detail about the problems related to waste collection and segregation we conducted basic foundational research. This included,

1. Observing the trash going inside the different trash bins in NYU, on roads and public places.
2. Doing extensive research about the problems related to trash on internet.
3. Research about the waste management policies in different parts of U. S. such as California, New York, New Jersey (Hoboken).
4. Researching about the places that manage the trash optimally, in different parts of the world like in few places in South Korea, One city in Japan, Indore (city) in India.
